We've enhanced and now we are going High Definition baby!!
I have been getting my eyebrows preened for many years now, probably a lot longer then you'd think as I was blessed with monster brows, now in year 7, starting big school.. This was a problem.. That needed to be sorted!! I started getting them waxed and continued with just a basic shape until about 20. I then started to experiment with new things to celebrate my big, dark brows instead of trying to mask them, slowly getting thinner and thinner (if only losing weight was that easy!)
Cara Delevingne came on the scenes and made it ok to have big eyebrows, so I decided to embrace the thickness (after all, I can't do it with the hair on my head, I was not blessed with thickness there)
I had heard all about Nilam Patel's HD Brows and was dying to try it out. A good friend of mine has her own beauty business and offers HD Brows, so I had to give it a go. I will never go back!! (I mean I will never go back to normal waxing, not talking about my friend! Haha!)
I have probably been getting them done every 4-5 weeks for the last year or so and each time I go they get better and better, I now love my brows.
What is HD Brows some of you may be thinking...
HD Brows are 7 stages to get the perfect brow. It starts by tinting the brows to define them, followed by waxing the bulk of the bush, then threading to get your perfect arch, a shape you can only get from treading, I believe. After that they get tweezed and trimmed and then they use HD products to pencil in, get rid of redness and keep in place.
I love these products so much that I have bought two of them, to maintain my 'just had my brows done, aren't they perfect' look.
This isn't the best photo, I will take a new one for you next time I go where you can see a a full face before and after, which is when you can really notice the change.
Anyway, my two products are:
The HD Palette: £25.00
I have this in the bombshell colour, which is designed for lighter brows, however, I don't like the drawn on look, so this is nice and subtle to just fill out my brows.
This palette contains a highlighter, for around the brows, a light and medium blonde, which I tend to mix to create the right colour for my brows, a carbon colour which is fantastic to use a a powder liner and the a wax to keep those brows in place.
The wax tends to create a sleek look on the brows and hold fairly well throughout the day.
The palette also comes with a double ended brush, which is designed perfectly to use for all the products.
My second HD product is...
The HD Brow Beater: £14.95
This was the first of my purchases and I use this everyday, the reason for this, is because my eyebrow hairs droop down slightly, creating a look that makes me look like a have a tiny slit in each eyebrow (like a gangsta). This product is tougher and longer wearing than the wax that comes in the palette, but you just have to make sure you don't put too much on. If you over apply, then you can see the product sitting in yours brows (which is never a good look!)
The product is a non-sticky setting lotion that just helps to tame the unruly ones, I will admit though, each time I get my brows done, they become much more tameable and need less and less product.
So, that's what I use to tame my wild beasts. Look out for my next make-up blog on eye liner!
Love life,
Emma xxx
