Last night I tried out the Rooftop film club and I would highly recommend it!
I planned a date night that I wanted to be different from something standard like dinner or traditional cinema. I had heard about Rootop film club from Facebook and checked out their website, they don't show brand new films that are in the cinema but they do have new releases as well as the golden oldies that everyone loves, so this experience is perfect to take anyone (over 18).
I decided to pick the Ealing location as it is only a 15 minute drive from my boyfriends house, we went to see The Grand Hotel Budapest and it was a brilliant film! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This location is situated on top of a car park, which worked out perfectly because it was literally a 30 second walk from the car to our rooftop cinema! Parking after 6pm was free so that was an additional bonus.
On arrival we went to pick up our headphones (perfect to block out outside noise) and blankets, which even on a warm evening were necessary. Blankets were on a first come first serve basis and so we arrived at 8.15 for a 9pm film to ensure we got good seats and blankets!
After settling down in our perfect deckchairs we started admiring the amazing sunset around us and demolishing the popcorn.
The man told us when it was time to get our headphones on and start the film, which as I mentioned earlier was really good. The film was about a hotel that was buzzing back in the day but had now lost it's spark and the journey that they go on which leads to the change in the hotel. As an additional bonus (for me anyway) Jude Law is in it... 😍
All in all last night was a really special and different experience and both me and my partner really enjoyed ourselves. On the drive home we were already talking about which venue we want to visit next.
I paid £28.60 for both of us to go and that included free use if the blankets and headphones but you obviously pay for snacks and drinks on top- we took our own drink so we only bought popcorn, this was fairly reasonably priced at 2 for £5.
I would say that this experience is a must and great fun, so check it out and let me know how you get on.
Love life,
Emma xxx
