I had another quintessentially British weekend in London.
My partner and I were celebrating our five year anniversary and while he planned a lovely romantic dinner for us for his date night, I decided for mine, that I'd take him to london, my favourite place. We had a lovely day, we started by going to see the poppies at the Tower of London.
This was absolutely incredible, the time and effort that has been put in by the volunteers was touching and you got a real feeling of what's important in life. All these people lost their lives fighting for their country- and now 100 years on, we are still celebrating it. I am very proud to be British.
There are 888,246 poppies planted. The last one will be planted on 11th November to coincide with Armistice Day.
After this, we went to pick up my anniversary present, a gorgeous Alex Monroe necklace, the classic bumblebee. It really is gorgeous!
I also got Triple Reward Points!!! On my Harrods card- I'm sad, I know!
After our fleeting visit to Harrods, we decided to hire out a couple of Boris bikes! This was actually so romantic, we cycled to Oxford Circus, to a very chic café for dinner.
The Riding House Café is like an old farm house with a modern twist- we loved it!
We were taking style inspiration from every corner. Not only was this place styled beautifully, the service was also fantastic and the food was beautiful.
I really recommend this place, the next time we visit, we really want to go for breakfast, the pancakes and smoothies look amazing!
This was a very special day and we had a lovely time cycling, shopping, remembering and stuffing our faces. I love all of these things (particularly the shopping and stuffing!) I recommend: check out the fantastic poppy display, cycle around London on your Boris bike and dine out at The Riding House Café.
Love life,
Emma xxx
