As you probably know by now, I love keeping fit, but sometimes my motivation is something of the imagination!
I attend an Impact Fitness Bootcamp, which runs three times a week, every week, come rain, shine, storms or snow. It is 10 minutes from my house and has a great group of people, which makes it much more bearable.
Saturday mornings are my favourite, if it wasn't for the Bootcamp- which starts at 9.30am, I probably wouldn't get up and out the house for half the day (unless it was to buy shoes.. If course). Knowing that I will be keeping fit, being outdoors and having a laugh makes me jump out of bed with a spring in my step (although my trainer Rob, ensures I don't have that by the end if the session, as we have all worked and laughed very hard!)
The picture posted above is of our mascot that we found whilst on our run today, I love it because it shows what a bunch of big kids we all are, using any excuse to pick each other up when we're struggling!
So, although this is just a cheap, plastic toy.. It is my motivation if why we do this and what achievement I get out at the end of it. Since working out I have noticed a big change in my body, not in weight, but definition and tone and my body feels so much healthier. Once you've worked so hard you also question whether you need to eat the whole pack of Jaffa Cakes or not and although I will always enjoy what my body craves, I don't binge out like I use to.
Another thing that make me want to work out is, of course, fashion- as I call it, fit fash!
Buying an item that makes you look and feel good is always great and I really like to find gym gear that makes me feel great but still comfortable, and yes, it does exist!
Black is very slimming and lots of ladies love leggings, so black workout tights are a must have for exercise. My favourites are my compression tights. Something else that us girls have to worry about is if our bums look big in this! Hey Jo's are fab for a great looking bum and they come in so many colours that it makes it fun and also means that those gym to lunch afternoons are always stylish, people don't know mine are designed for working out, and they are SO comfortable!
A good sportsbra is another essential item and the only one that tops all others, is the shock absorbers. They are brilliant and come in even the very large sizes.
Something else, which is a fitness must is good trainers, if you've bought a pair that you thought were a bargain or you just liked the colour, you are doing more harm than good, even if you do feel sassy in them- not worth it! Sweatshop offer a great service that can garentee you the best shoe for you, or your money back!
They watch you run and also film it so that you can see before and after results. The only downside to this, is the trainers that are best for you are not always best for your eyes! I'm afraid this is one sacrifice I would make to fashion if you are running a lot as having knee or hip problems when you're older is simply not worth it in the vain of fashion.. In this case..
I must admit, fir bootcamps only, I have surrendered to treating myself to a pair of Nike iD's, which I am so pleased with- but wouldn't run long distances in!
Below are a few of my favourite pieces!
If you have any hidden fitfash gems, then please let me know 😉
Love life,
