Yesterday, we celebrated my parents Silver Wedding Anniversary. They decided they wanted to renew their vows, so invited family and close friends over for the occasion. It was very intimate and romantic, love was in the air.
As you will know from a previous blog, I have recently bought some navy Manolo's. A week later, I was strolling around Richmond when this dress caught my attention. It was basically summoning me into the shop to try it on (and matched my shoes perfectly).
I was with my partner who hates my shopping habits, but the fact I had a special event coming up and offered to buy him his anniversary present soon persuaded him in!
I got my priorities right and went over to the male section to pick out a nice jumper or cardigan for my partner, he soon found something he liked and we put it behind the till, I slowly drifted towards the dress that had attracted me to the shop and instantly the sales assistant came over to say what a great choice it was.
You know me, this was all the persuasion I needed, in my head I was saying 'Yes Emma- this is a great choice and so sophisticated!' At that, I scurried off to the changing rooms and started twirling around like a princess. My boyfriend reluctantly came to have a look, and to my shock, loved it.. That is until I told him the price! This beauty would set me back £250, now for me, this was ok, not a problem, but for him.. This was a problem. When there is a shopping dilemma like this, there is one thing to do in my case. You have to pull out the daddy card!
'Well I'm buying this for mum and dad's special day, so I'm pretty sure daddy will help to contribute to it, and then the rest of the money can go into our savings.'
Dress sold, I walked out feeling very happy and proud of myself and if you were wondering, yes, daddy may have contributed a little!
Anyway, more about the dress! This dress is gorgeous, the material feels very expensive and I'll put a close up picture of the texture because it looks amazing.
The dress is very Kate Middleton-esque, it has a high neck, so doesn't reveal any of the décolleté or breast but just enough leg to be sophisticated yet sexy. Its fit is very flattering for my shape because it comes in quite tightly around the waist and comes out at the hips/stomach to hide and bloatingness (if you're having gone if those days!)
It is pricey but if you have an occasion or money to spend, then this is the dress for you. If you couldn't guess from the title of the blog, this dress is from Gant, which I love. Everytime I shop in there I fall in love with everything but you could easily, as I found out, spent £400 on just two items, so I tend to avoid it and walk past with my eyes closed.
Love life,
Emma xxx
