Sorry if I have been a little quiet on the blogging front. I have been enjoying myself in Italia (and duty free, of course)!
Day 1:
My holiday started in terminal 5 - ON PAY DAY!
Let's say I am now on my final pennies (but to my partner, if you're reading this then don't worry- this month I saved)!!
It is so lovely there, I got some new make-up, which I will do a blog about soon and then I went to Harrods- yes, there is a mini-Harrods there, which got me extremely excited. I had 20 more points to earn to move up a tier.. and it is safe to say that I managed that!
Next up was the early morning connecting flight to Dusseldorf, where we had lunch and continued to shop and then onto our final destination - Italy.
The reason for this trip was no normal one, we were going for our friends wedding and it was so idyllic, picturesque and romantic! We were staying in a beautiful hotel called Hotel Mediterraneo in Sorrento and the wedding took place at their sky bar, which truly had the most breath-taking views I have ever seen - I couldn't stop taking pictures (and not just selfies)!
We were only there for a short stay (6 days to be precise), but they were fabulous and we crammed loads in!
Day 2: Wedding day- as it was so hot, the wedding started at 6.30pm, which meant we had the day to chill out by the pool and we decided to go to the private beach and have a long lunch. We then all went off to get ready for the evening ahead (see outfit details below). The wedding was very romantic with a backdrop to die for, with friends and family all around. The table place settings were italian gangsters and the food was delicious! The vows were said as the sun started to set and the first dance started as the fireworks commenced. Then was dancing.. lots and lots of dancing, and that group can DANCE! |
Outfit: Dress- Hobbs (you may recognise from my wishlist blog) Shoes- Christian Louboutin (altadama's) Bracelet- Swarovski I was also put on a table with someone whose style was right up my street! We got talking.. and talking.. and I discovered something new 'Shoes of Prey'. I had heard of this before but never really looked into it and the website is crazy! You get to design your perfect heel from scratch- obviously this isn't cheap but it also isn't crazy expensive. It's similar to Nike ID but slightly more up my street! Click here to start designing your perfect shoe! |
Evening Outfit: Dress- Zara Shoes- Tod's Excuse this picture, it was taken at the end of the night and my lipstick seems to be slightly smeared over my face! Pool Essentials | Day 3: Hangover day- Today, no one was in a fit state to do much (apart from me, as I don't really drink), so we decided to have a pool day and once again have a big, long lunch! In the evening we went out for a big family dinner, which included myself and my parents tagging along. We went to a small family run restaurant called 'Moonlight' and took over! Day Outfit: Dress- Zara (I only just bought this but can't find it online) Hat- Marks and Spencer Rucksack- Longchamp Sunglasses- Ray-Ban Flip Flops- Liberty of London |
Day 4: The Amalfy Coast- We took a trip to Positano and Revello along the Amalfy Coast and it was stunning. The driving was a tad scary though. Dad decided to hire a car and the Italian driving it nuts- especially on those tight roads! The sides of the roads had all these lovely fruit and vegetable markets and their fruit is ENORMOUS! We stopped at this gorgeous restaurant called Chez Black in Positano on the beach front. It has a wall of fame with all the celebrities that have visited there which was pretty cool. Pops and I went traditional and ordered a Pizza to share! |
Day 5: Yacht Trip to Capri- This day was in my top 10 days! We had the most incredible time, which was made better by the group of people we met on this trip. There were 8 of us and we were all english/american. The day was made thanks to these people. We started with a boat trip to Capri, which took us on a tour of the Island and a swim in the sea on 'noodles', a couple on the boat were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary so we were all sipping champagne and diving into the sea, it was incredible. |
Outfit: Bikini- Melissa Odabash Dress- Free People Hat- Marks & Spencer Sunglasses- Ray-Ban On the trip back from Capri we were taken to a private waterfall, which we kept singing 'Forever Young' when going under it. I got chatting to one of the girls we met and I discovered that she sells second hand luxury items, how ideal! Right up my street and I am definitely going to be dealing with her again- HELLO CHANEL! | Once we arrived at Capri my first stop was to get some travel sickness pills (not very glamorous, I know) I was feeling a little nauseous and I found my self agreeing to go and look at the gardens instead of shopping in Prada- WHAT'S HAPPENED TO ME! Although the gardens were beautiful, and I do have more money to my name than I would have, I still wish I had experienced that luxury side to Capri. Next stop was Anacapri and to get there we had to take a single chairlift that went straight up for 13 minutes! We were high! So high I went through a cloud on the way up! The picture below is the trip down and although it was slightly scary- the views were the best I have ever seen (see first picture) |
We finished our final night in Italy by going to a piano/karaoke bar- I say night but also morning because we didn't leave until it closed.. which was 4.30am!
The singer was INCREDIBLE and I have told him that when I get married he is coming over. He knew how to get the party started but also when he sang a slow song, managed to take it to another level and it was so romantic, it's what made me really wish that I had my Eddie with me! I will take him!
His name was Claudio Fiori.
This night made me realise how amazing italians are at dancing, they have rhythm and sexy rhythm at that!
Day 6:
Leaving Day- Time to leave this beautiful Island, but I know I will be back. I had a fantastic trip and Italy is one of the most scenic, beautiful countries I have ever visited.
Until next time...
Love Life,
